About Grant Newkirk

Man, I've come a long way. I'm a perfect example of someone who didn't know what their life held in store until the pieces fell into their lap.

I grew up in the small town of Vilonia, Arkansas, and in 2006 I moved to Jonesboro, Arkansas to pursue a degree in Radio/Television. In 2012, after 2 years of looking for work in video editing, production, or any sort of career in broadcasting, I took a job in banking and resigned myself to a life of finance. It was fine, as are most things, but five years later in 2017 an opportunity fell into my lap and I'm running full speed.

Summer of 2017 I was presented with a special opportunity to work for Waypoint Media as Promotion Director for KJNB-TV in Jonesboro, Arkansas, and WNBJ-TV in Jackson, Tennessee. This opportunity was the culmination of everything I know I wanted to be a part of; production, entertainment, community service and leadership.

In 2021, I made the move to KAIT-TV, the legacy ABC, NBC and The CW affiliate in Jonesboro AR. I am currently at KAIT as the Promotions Manager, where I lead and guide our creative services team in all things that help promote our station on-air, online, and in person.
